Low pressure bring more rains to Tamil Nadu

Chennai: After a lull in rain activity, formation of a low pressure over the Indian Ocean (Comerin) area would bring more rains to Tamil Nadu especially in the coastal region on Sunday, weather officials said in Chennai on Saturday.

"A low pressure has formed off Comerin area near Indian ocean and under its influence rain or thunder showers would occur at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu region," they said, adding that isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over Kerala, Lakshadweep, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the same period.

Fishermen have been warned not to venture out into the sea since strong onshore winds with speed reaching 45-55 km/hr is likely along off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast, they said.
