Click to play videoChandigarh: The Chand-Fiza love saga took another twist on Thursday when former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan's second wife allegedly attempted suicide at her Mohali residence, a day after a tearful Fiza claimed that her husband of two months had been kidnapped.

"She was disturbed at Chand's abscence and that is what drove her to consume the tablets," said lawyer and friend of Fiza, G Rana.
A day after Chander Mohan dissapeared without explanation he resurfaced in Delhi. All this while Fiza cried herself hoarse saying he had been abducted by his enemies. Then she took an overdose of sleeping pills.
"Doctors have looked into the case and treated her, Fiza is out of danger now," said Dr Vipin Kaushal.
However, Fiza's road to recovery will not be an easy one, with the police likely to slap a case of attempted suicide on her.
"Police will question Fiza later when she is better," said SI Mohali Police, Deepinder Singh.
It was only in December that Chander Mohan resurfaced as Chand Mohammed with his new wife Fiza, saying the two had converted to Islam and got married.
