The Red Devils won the league ahead of second-placed Chelsea last season, thereby overtaking Liverpool as the most successful team in English league history.

After successful tours of Latin America and parts of Asia, the club will bring the Premier League trophy to 27 new destinations, including India, Turkey, Korea, Tokyo, Vietnam and Norway. The four-month tour will kick off in Delhi on February 4, after which it move on to Mumbai on February 6.

Apart from the above-mentioned players, legends of the club such as Paul Parker, Ronny Johnsen, Jesper Blomqvist, Gary Bailey and Gary Pallister, as well as the club’s famous Fred The Red mascot, will also accompany the trophy.

This is the first time Manchester United have toured India with the trophy and the club is expecting a big response from the fans. Supporters will get opportunities to take photos with the trophy and meet the club legends during occasions such as fan parties, in-store events and soccer schools.

"The 19th league title was a special moment for everyone in the Manchester United family and the DHL Champ19ns Trophy Tour is our way of being able to share that historic achievement with our 333 million fans," United's commercial director Richard Arnold told the club's official website.

"The passion and fervour of United fans is famous around the world. We are looking forward to being able to continue that celebration in India."

John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express Europe, said: "With a global network of more than 220 countries, it is great that some of our customers will have the opportunity to meet the United legends and see the Premier League trophy close up."
