Bangalore: The police claimed to have cracked Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer SP Mahantesh's murder case and arrested four in the contract killing. Mahantesh was a whistle-blower in a cooperative housing scam case.
Murli, Aiyappa, Shivakumar and Kiran were arrested by Bangalore Police on Thursday. The police have also siezed a car which was used in the attack.
Mahantesh was probing irregularities in Sahakar Nagar credit cooperative society.
48-year-old Mahantesh had suffered head injuries in the alleged attack by unidentified persons on May 15.
He was found unconscious near a hotel in Bangalore while returning home in his car and shifted to the hospital after passerby noticed him and informed his family.
The KAS officer, known for his integrity, was working as Deputy Director of the Audit wing in the state's Cooperative department and had reported irregularities in different societies involving some officials and political figures.
