Mumbai: A family of four was found dead in an apartment in the eastern Mumbai suburb, Borivali.
Police have recovered a suicide note from the house located in the Devipada area. The note cited that circumstances had driven the family to this extreme step. While the elder two members of the Nair family seem to have died of poisoning, the other two were found hanging.
It is suspected that the incident occurred three days ago. The family had rented this house in February earlier this year.
It is not clear as to what drove the family to suicide. The names of the victims are A K Nair 65, Samal Nair 60, Sudhir 40 and Suchitra. Police say that AK Nair and Samal Nair died due to poisoning while Sudhir and Suchitra were found hanging.
Police suspect that the incident occurred 3 days ago. No relatives have come forward to claim the bodies.
“Total 4 bodies have been recovered; a suicide note has also been recovered. No relative has claimed the bodies so far, but according to the suicide note the family wants the bodies to be dispose of by the authorities,” said the DCP of Mumbai police, Ajit Patil.
