A fourteen-year-old in Mumbai is pregnant after being raped by her mother's live-in boyfriend over the last 6 months.
A 35-year-old interior decorator has confessed to the crime
Senior police inspector, Malad Police Station, Maruti Pelang said, “When the lady used to go out for work, this man used to abuse the girl and threatened if she opened her mouth.”
However, the girl gathered courage to confide in her neighbour after hearing the ordeal of the Mira Road girls on television.
The neighbour immediately took her to the police to register a compliant.
Meanwhile, police claim that unlike the Mira Road case, the girl's mother had no role in the crime.
The accused has been sent to 7 days' police custody and the girl will undergo a medical examination.
While the Joseph Fritzl episode left the entire world appalled, the Mira Road incest case it seems has cut open a can of worms, leaving us with the menacing question – how many such monster dads are on the prowl?
