Chandigarh: A Chandigarh court has ordered an inquiry against Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on the complaint of an IAS officer Vijay Kumar Janjua. The officer claims he was implicated in a false corruption case after he allegedly refused to pay Badal a bribe of Rs 1 crore.
The court has ordered Chandigarh Police to submit its inquiry report by March 3.
"I didn't oblige him (Badal), I told him that I can't pay bribe that's why he implicated me in this case that this case is absolutely false is clear from many facts," Janjua.
Januja was caught red handed by the Punjab vigilance department in November 2009 for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a Ludhiana-based industrialist.
Janjua now claims the entire exercise was orchestrated by Badal and Badal himself refused to comment on the allegations made by Janjua.
But Janjua is presenting a number of facts to bolster his case, his cell phone details for instance is being matched with the tower location which he claims prove that vigilance department wasn't being fair.
