Frankfurt's tryst with a fairy tale

New Delhi: It's that time of the week again when one tries to unwind. For that unwinding, one can chill out with some reading.

This weekend, journalist and author Neelesh Misra's latest book has been released at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Once Upon a Timezone does have a fairy tale ring to it, not to mention a happy fairy tale ending too, but the story's set in a modern-day castle - that is, a call centre.

"It is much more than just a call centre story. It's about overcoming prejudice, chasing your dreams and the universal feeling of falling in love," says Mishra.

The main character, Neel Pandey, is in love with all things American, but has to settle for a job just faking an American identity.

But having said that, it's obviously a topical choice for a setting. The story is a simple love story, funny in bits, silly in bits, and it speaks a simple language.

It's not high-brow fiction so don't go expecting any brainy twists and turns here, but if you're looking for is an easy weekend read then this should be up your alley.
