New Delhi: Over the last few days, the mercury is dipping and if the weather forecast is correct, Friday could be Delhi's coldest day in 72 years. The BBC weather forecast says the minimum will hit zero on Friday.
The Meteorological Department in India has warned of the low temperature on this Friday due to the effect of the westerly winds.
For children like, Sujana Bora, going to school is not very exciting, especially in winter.
“I hate getting up in the morning. I have to wear so many layers of clothing in winter,” says Sujana Bora.
However, for the next one-week, children can chill at home. The Government and private schools in Delhi have warmed to their complaints, and announced a winter holiday from Jan 30 to February 3.
“We will re-open on Monday for students from standard one to standard five,” says Education minister.
Unfortunately, grown ups have been given the cold shoulder. Offices are open and so are colleges.
