New Delhi: After facing delays and objections from the censor board, Anupam Kher-starrer 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' is all set to get released on May 18. Earlier, 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' had landed in trouble with the censor board when the makers of the film were asked to bleep out the names of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former US president George Bush.
Directed by Karan Razdan, 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' talks about a common man, Mr. Bhatti's dream of a workable peace plan in a world ravaged by war and hunger. The film is also a celebration of Amitabh Bachchan's stardom. He plays Mr. Bhatti's conscience and also his inspiration.
The cast also includes actors Bhairavi Goswami, Ashwani Chopra, Abid Ali, Shakti Kapoor, Emma Kearney, Pawan Shankar and Neha Phendse besides Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance.
Anupam Kher is fast becoming the champion of small budget films with good themes. He was recently seen in 'Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein' where his performance was critically acclaimed.
The director Karan Razdan is not new to the film industry. He has earlier directed films such as 'Hawas' and 'Girlfriend'.
He is an actor also. He has appeared in films such as 'Disco Dancer' and 'Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki' in the past. Razdan also wrote the screenplay of Priyanka Chopra starrer '2050'. The film bombed, but it couldn't deter Karan Razdan from making film after film. He has directed nine films so far.
Only box office will tell the result of his collaboration with Anupam Kher on 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti'.(With inputs from IANS)
