New Delhi: Jackky Bhagnani wasn’t successful in his first film but he waited till ‘FALTU’, which did well at the box office. He is returning for his third outing as hero in ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the film also stars Nidhi Subbaiah, Arjun Rampal and Darshan Jariwala in prominent roles.
The film is about a rich boy who falls in love with a girl who doesn’t like rich people. The boy knows poverty through Hindi films only and thus models every member of his family on the lines of some or the other popular film characters. Now, he faces an uphill task of hiding this from his sharp girlfriend.
Nidhi Subbaiah plays the role of Maddy, Jackky Bhagnani’s love interest, in ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’. She speaks about her transition from the Southern film industry to Bollywood, “Thankfully for me, it’s been a very natural transition. While I was shooting for my seventh film in the South, my manager told me that the casting for ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’ is going on. I flew down to meet them, next day I had to go to Spain, so I gave a screen test in the evening and went to Spain. I signed the film when I returned from Spain, and in two weeks we were shooting.”
So, what’s the difference between the work cultures of South and Bollywood, “There is no need to even divide. Many remakes are being done and producers, actors, directors are coming from South as well, so it’s more like a big happy family.”
The film’s music is already a hit and this makes composer duo Sajid-Wajid happy. Sajid gets philosophical when asked about his inspiration in music, “It’s all about learning. As the time moves on, you find out whether you are on the right track or not.”
He describes his creative process as well, “Tune is more important to me because I personally feel that the composition has the edge. It enhances the value of words.”
Sanjay Gadhvi has made stylish films such as ‘Dhoom’, ‘Dhoom 2’ and ‘Kidnap’ in the past. His films show the actors in glamorous avatars and thus Jackky will be flaunting his six pack abs in ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’.
However, Prakash Jha’s ‘Chakravyuh’, which is getting positive reviews, is likely to give ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’ a tough fight at the box office.
