New Delhi: Director Rajat Kapoor is returning to the silver screen with his new film 'Fatso'. The film stars Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, and Purab Kohli in the lead roles. The film's basic storyline revolves around Nandini (Gul Panag) and Navin (Purab Kohli), who are in love and are all set to get married.
Navin goes out with his friend Sudeep (Ranvir Shorey) on a trip before his marriage where he dies in an accident. The angels take Navin's soul to heaven where he discovers that he has become the victim of a clerical error. The angels were supposed to pick up the soul of the hugely overweight Sudeep, but they made a mistake and brought Navin's soul. Now, the god of death wants to salvage his mistake, and thus he decides to return Navin's soul to the earth. However, the body of Navin is already dead, so his soul has to live in Sudeep's body.
This generates a very interesting situation where Sudeep, who is actually Navin's new disguise, has to woo Nandini all over again.

Director Rajat Kapoor\'s \'Fatso\' features Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, and Purab Kohli in the lead roles.
Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, the shooting of 'Fatso' was finished two years ago but the makers were waiting for the right time to go public with their film.
If reports are to be believed then Ranvir Shorey had to gain 18 kg to meet his character's demand. VJ turned actor Shorey has been trying his hands in commercial as well as off-beat films but the success has remained elusive to him so far. Though he has films such as 'Mithya' and 'Ugly Aur Pagli' to his credit but he is still deprived of commercial success.
Rajat Kapoor is directing a film after a gap of four years, so he would love to see the film making money at the box office.
The film is publicized well and it has recognisable faces, so the makers would be hoping for a good finish. Recent trends in Bollywood say that a small budget film with good content can make it big at the ticket window despite challenges from big budget films, so, the team of 'Fatso' can hope for success in spite of releasing alongside 'Jannat 2' and 'Hugo'.
