New Delhi: The Hindi film industry is going through a transition phase where the content is considered more important than the face value of the stars. Now, the films don't need big budgets and established faces. All they need is a good promotional drive. Director Kabeer Kaushik's 'Maximum' falls into the same category. Though the film has known actors such as Sonu Sood, Naseeruddin Shah, Neha Dhupia and Vinay Pathak, it's not among much anticipated releases of the year, so the film will have to come up with extraordinary performances to excel at the ticket window.
'Maximum' is about the world of criminals operating in Mumbai. The story goes back to 2003 where the local police have declared a war against the underworld. Two brave officers Pratap Pandit (Sonu Sood) and Arun Inaamdar (Naseeruddin Shah) have been given the responsibility to root out the wrong-doers. Both of them are trigger happy shoot out specialists.
A clash of ego between two officers leads to some unwanted actions. They are now pitted against each other in order to have the maximum control over the system. What they have forgotten is that they are not alone in the game.
Directed by Kabeer Kaushik, \'Maximum\' stars Sonu Sood, Naseeruddin Shah and Neha Dhupia in the lead roles.
The promos of 'Maximum' suggest that the film's narrative encapsulates politics, land deals, and fake encounters. The storyline covers the duration of five years before reaching on to a resolution.
Sonu Sood has been mostly seen in negative characters except very few 'Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi' type roles, so he will be having a good opportunity to showcase his talent as a positive lead. Naseeruddin Shah, Neha Dhupia and Vinay Pathak will be helping Sonu Sood in brushing up his acting skills.
'Aa ante amlapuram' song is already a chartbuster and it is likely to fetch initial eyeballs. 'Maximum' will have to capitalise whatever chances it gets, if it has to be counted among successful films.
