Mumbai: From 50 floors to the bolder 80 plus, Mumbai is growing taller by the day. And if the structures once held Mumbai's pride then newer ones promise to steal the thunder.
Architect Hafeez Contractor said, “There are many new tall buildings coming up next year in the city.”
Lack of horizontal space demand the need for more living space and the ever booming real estate scenario is leading realty developers to go vertical. That the thought provoking difference in going vertical is in its necessity.
While the Burj Dubai serves as the ultimate status symbol for Dubai to prove its infrastructural progress, for cities like Mumbai it is more of a need-based alternative.
“This will also bring in infrastructural bottleneck with growing density,” a resident of Mumbai said.
While the current tallest imperial building stands at 60 stories, the India Tower near Marine Lines promise to catch up soon and beat it at 85 floors.
