From Bollywood to Berlin, Shilpa floors all

New Delhi: Shilpa Shetty is making her big theatrical debut in Berlin with the musical Miss Bollywood.

The actor, who was reportedly wrongly detained at the Mumbai airport while on her way to Germany, spoke about the incident at a press conference in Berlin just a day before she hit the stage.

Shilpa was allegedly rudely stopped by immigration authorities at the Mumbai international airport because they had no information that a regional court's verdict barring Shilpa from leaving the country in the Richard Gere kissing case was quashed by the High Court.

“I was not arrested, and I went on the net and people were calling me and they were asking me if I was okay, and I was like, what's happened, I've just come to Berlin. People said that we heard you got arrested. No, I was questioned at the airport because of that entire thing that happened with Richard, and the High Court had already quashed the case,” Shilpa said.

Meanwhile, Shilpa has buried the airport issue already and is all gung ho about her stage debut.

“It has me. You have somebody from Bollywood doing Bollywood, so it can't be more authentic than this. There are other people who have tried to ape Bollywood and people who didn't really belong to Bollywood, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first time that a team from Bollywood has come together to put up a Bollywood show,” Shilpa said.

Miss Bollywood is scheduled to tour the UK as well.
