Mumbai: Naseeruddin Shah's much awaited directorial debut Yun Hota To Kya Hota premiered at the 8th Osian Cinefan film Festival with packed houses on Wednesday.

After playing different characters in over 150 films, the critically acclaimed actor has finally plunged into direction and that too for all the right reasons.

"I love dealing with actors. I love actors despite their indulgences and laziness," said Shah at the premier of his debut film.

Yun Hota To Kya Hota traces the story of four characters who come from different walks of life with strikingly different backgrounds but have the same destination - the USA.

"Actors are lazy people. They do not want to work," said actor Irfan Khan.

While Irfan plays a fugutive stockbroker in the film, Konkana plays a newly wed wife battling her in-laws to be with her husband who is in America.

"Initially I was very nervous. I was thrilled that he wanted me to be in the film. I said yes to the film even before I heard anything about its role or the script. I was just too happy to be a part of the film," said Konkana who came clad up in a glamorous black outfit at the premier.

Paresh Rawal plays a small time event manager and Ankur Khanna is a student with an admission ticket to an American college. Meanwhile, apart from wife Ratna, Naseeruddin's son Immuddin also features in the film.

"He (son, Immuddin Shah) was doing nothing at home so I asked him to do this role," said Shah.

The cast and crew of the film were all praise for the Shah who turns 57 this Thursday.

"Even when he is directing, he is acting and showing you exactly what to do," said actor Jimmy Shergill.

So, will it hit the bull’s eye, or fizzle out? Much like the actor that Naseer is, the director too couldn’t care less.

"It's all at producer’s risk," said Shah.
