New Delhi/Mumbai: It’s got the lion’s share of India's mobile phone market and wants to maintain its dominance as more people buy their first handsets.
It's rivals' phones might be cheaper but Nokia's latest range of entry level phones launched on Thursday tries to pack in more features and durability.
"First concern is durability the quality is this value for money.. Our strategy of providing high qulaity aspirational design with the ease of use under the nokia brand has being extremely powerful,” says Sr Vice President Nokia Soren Petersen.
The new line up includes clamshells like the 2670 and 2630 with Bluetooth, GPRS, VGA camera, FM and MP-3, all for nearly Rs 5,000.
The sleek Nokia 2630 has all that plus video recording.
Shell out Rs 3,000 and you could grab the Nokia-1200 or the 1208, which offer a flashlight and color screen.
With four billion mobile user mark as its target by 2010, Nokia is clearly training its sights on the bottom of the pyramid.
