Funny side of the 61st Cannes Film Festival

Mumbai: From Hollywood's star couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, to Bollywood's star couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, the who's who of showbiz hit the red carpet on Thursday night for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda at Cannes.

Also spotted on the red carpet were the film's stars Jack Black and a giant panda, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Lui and Eva Longoria.

Earlier in the day, Kung Fu Panda's stars, Jolie and Black, joked about Jolie and her expected babies. This is a day after, Black let it slip out that Jolie was expecting twins.

Angelina Jolie: "Jack, would you like to?"

Jack Black: "It's actually triplets and they are due August 29. Is that OK?"

Angelina Jolie: Yes, yes they are twins, thank you very much."

And Kung Fu Panda took the backseat as Jolie became the centre of attraction.

Actor Dustin Hoffman said, "I just want to say one thing because no one has asked the question. There was a point in time when Angelina could have chosen between me and Brad."

One wonders what Brad has to say about that? But he was missing in action. Angelina put an end to the speculation on his whereabouts saying: "Yes he is with our kids right now but he will get his suit on at the last minute I'm sure. Yeah, he'll pull it together."

Million Dollar Dress

Cannes might have seen many stars sporting expensive designer wear but on Wednesday night, it saw a million-dollar-dress.

The lilac-coloured dress encrusted with diamonds and other gems worth a $ 1 million has been designed by Alberta Ferretti. And the money raised from the auction of this dress on Thursday will be used for Aids research.

Model, Bar Rafaeli who wore the dress on the ramp says, "It's worth a $ 1 million and I definitely feel like $ 10 million."

The evening also saw Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett, Preity Zinta and actress-turned-rock star Juliette Lewis at the festival.
