Funnyman Javed Jaffrey's act in Salaam Namaste left audiences in splits. The actor is back on 70 mm, managing Saif Ali Khan's race track career in Tara Rum Pum.
CNN-IBN: So, are you Saif’s lucky mascot or is it vice versa?
Javed Jaffrey: I don’t know, may be Siddharth is our lucky mascot. Maybe he took an affinity to Saif and I was just a cameo in Salaam Namaste. There was a kind of friendship and mutual respect that sprung from that affinity as far as work is concerned. The two of us have been the constants in at least these two movies. Let’s see how it goes ahead.
CNN-IBN: I believe you are playing a manager in the film. What kind of managerial skills do you display in the film?
Javed Jaffrey: What do I manage? Well, it’s not a suspense. He is a race-track manager and a guy who befriends Saif’s character in the first scene of the film. Then I am with him and take him to the tracks. He’s not into racing at all, but I realise that he has the potential. So I take him to the race track and become his manager and friend in a way. My part-time job is that of a cab driver. So the story goes from there.
CNN-IBN: When will we see you in a role where you will be seen dancing?
Javed Jaffrey: Well, there’s a very small bit of dancing in this movie too, though not a full-time one. There’s something called Victoria 203 also coming up where I play the main villain and there’s one whole song that I have sung and choreographed. I will be dancing in that song.
