New Delhi: Seven-year old-Prachi and her five-year-old sister Shreya are dazed and confused. Their home in Tahirpur village in East Delhi has been full of grieving relatives since Monday. Their mother is so shattered that she cannot even tend to her one-year-old son, Anmol.
The children’s father Arvind is the latest victim of road rage on Capital’s streets.
“He has left three children behind. Who will take care of them now?” says Arvind’s brother-in-law, Manoj.
According to the police, Arvind, a plumber by profession was talking on his mobile phone when 25-year-old Narendra honked at him to clear the way. When Arvind did not respond immediately, Narendra lost his temper and attacked him and beat him till he became unconscious.
Arvind, who suffered grievous injuries succumbed on his way to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital.
Narendra was absconding for 24 hours before he surrendered at the Dilshad Garden police station.
“We have booked him under section 304 for culpable homicide,” says SHO, Dilshad Garden, S S Kaushik.
This is the third such case in the last one month. On July 16, pedestrian Jitendra Pawar was killed in Saket area when he objected to four unruly bikers. Two days before that, two NSG men thrashed a 22-year-old man near Delhi Cantt after a scuffle on street.
