Future perfect? Find out at NRI fest

New Delhi: It is not just the NRI investment that pulled crowds at the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas on Tuesday.

After a 90-minute tedious and arguably boring session on how to get $1.5 trillion investment in the country next year, it was a tea break for all. Some continued to talk about business, sipping tea and consuming saccharine cookies.

However, many made their way to a corner, not to discuss the investment plan, but for some crystal ball gazing.

And the crowd puller was Ravishankar, a self-styled NRI astrologer, face reader, palm reader and a numerologist from big bad Hollywood.

Ravishankar says that his clients include the who's who of the American film industry and also some US Congressmen.

And what is his big prediction?

“Hillary Rodhham Clinton will be the next president of US. She will the first woman president,” said Ravishankar.

Now with many political pundits predicting the same, and the dynamic Mrs Clinton in her second term as New York Senator, you could say that one need not be an astrologer to predict the Clintons return to the White House.

But fellow NRI's at the Pravasi tea break were ready to swear by Ravishankar.

“He is a very good astrologer,” said an NRI, Shubha.

“He said things about my past which is so true,” said an NRI from South Africa.

If Hillary does make it to the White House, Ravishankar will be proved right. But what about the results of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls?

“It is not possible. It is pretty tough,” said Ravishankar.

So now we already know that an SP-BSP-Congress-BJP 4 cornered battle isn’t as simple as a Hillary vs Gulliani battle.
