London: Thousands of demonstrators jammed downtown London, railing against the financial crisis and marking what they call "Financial Fool's Day."
Ahead of this week's global summit, they're hoisting effigies of the "four horsemen of the apocalypse," represented as war, climate chaos, financial crimes and homelessness.
One protester had his family with him, banging bells and blowing whistles. He's blaming greed for the turmoil.
Another was dressed as the Easter bunny and managed to hop past a police cordon. He was stopped before he could reach the Bank of England.
Police are lining the streets and helicopters are hovering overhead. Some buildings have been boarded up in case things get ugly. Some bankers are wearing jeans instead of suits to blend in with the crowd.
At least eight people were reported arrested.
