New Delhi: Pawan Kalyan starrer 'Gabbar Singh' was expected to be a big hit, and the film's release has proved all the predictions correct. If initial reports are to be believed then 'Gabbar Singh' is going to be one of the most successful Telugu films of recent times.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also suggests the same. He tweets,"USA: #GabbarSingh [Telugu] Thu $ 157,349, Fri $ 204,897, Sat $ 214,844 [some sites unreported]. Total: $ 577,090. Superb!"
Adarsh further writes,"#GabbarSingh USA total could be higher than what's reported [$ 577,090], since the collections are of 'reported screens' only."

Shruti Haasan is playing the lead in the Telugu version of Salman Khan's hit film Dabangg.

For all the super budgeted films that Shruthi Hassan has done, she is still a star-in-the-making.

Strangely enough, the ingenious actor in her has eluded the notice of critics and audience alike somehow.

Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu was a dud.

Oh My Friend never broke even. 7th Sense was at best a fizzle.

In this backdrop, Shruthi's forthcoming film Gabbar Singh occupies prominence.

The Haasan daughter has already quoted that she is playing a character with lots of scope for portraying a myriad emotions.

According to her, she has the opportunity to prove herself to the fullest extent possible through this role.

Though she is playing Sonakshi Sinha's role in Dabbang, the role has been modified by the writers of the Telugu version.

Her role is typically different when compared with the role of Sonakshi Sinha, she said.

She is not someone who hankers after trivial roles and acts for the sake of acting.

The attitude with which she has taken up the role opposite Pawan Kalyan shows her resolve and determination.

The limelight she will come to hog after the release of this rural entertainer will depend much on the chemistry she strikes with the 'Power Star'.

Shruti Haasan and Dhanush starrer '3' hit the screens on March 30, 2012.

Actress, singer and music composer Shruti Haasan is the daughter of known actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika.

She has been a part of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films so far.

After a guest appearance in 'Hey Ram', Shruti made her big screen debut with Bollywood movie 'Luck'.

Though the film failed to create a stir at the box office, Shruti in a bikini grabbed eyeballs.

She was cast opposite Imran Khan in the movie.

After a couple of guest appearances, she was seen in Telugu film 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu'.

Shruti Haasan also starred in Bollywood movie 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji'.

Shruti was cast opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film.

Shruti Haasan and Suriya also starred in '7aum Arivu'.

Directed by Harish Shankar, \'Gabbar Singh\' is the Hindi remake of Salman Khan\'s \'Dabangg\'.
Taran Adarsh indicates that a Telugu film can surpass the business of more publicized Hindi films such as 'Rockstar', 'Desi Boyz', and 'Agent Vinod',"USA 'opng wknd' #Rockstar $ 612,235, #DesiBoyz $ 702,325 [5 dy], #EMAET $ 637,100, #AgentVinod $ 427,043. #GabbarSingh will cross all."
This is not an easy feat to achieve for any Indian regional language film in the US. Adarsh emphasizes his argument,"Point to be noted is that #GabbarSingh 'reported screens' in USA are half or 1/3rd of those Hindi biggies, yet the total will be bigger."
Directed by Harish Shankar, 'Gabbar Singh' is the Hindi remake of Salman Khan's 'Dabangg'. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan and Abhimanyu Singh in the lead roles.
Shruti Haasan is also receiving praises for her performance in 'Gabbar Singh'. Critics feel that she has done justice to her role of a village girl. Her last film '3' was a disaster at the box office.
