Nagpur: Police and Naxals on Monday exchanged gunfire in the densely wooded area of Damrancha in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.
According to the police, no casualties were reported from both sides.
A police team, consisting of C-60 commandos and local policemen, was carrying out a combing operation to flush out Naxals in Damrancha forest on Monday morning when the ultras opened fire.

The gun-battle lasted for an hour, Gadchiroli police spokesperson S Kangude said, adding that the ultras fired only a few rounds.
Additional force had been sent to the area to track down the cadres, the spokesperson said.
