Gadkari's new team: Varun chosen as youth icon of BJP

New Delhi From being criticised for making alleged hate speeches last year (2009) to now being felicitated as a national secretary of the BJP. The wheel has turned a full circle for BJP's Gandhi - Varun Gandhi.

BJP's logic in making Varun as a secretary with special focus on Uttar Pradesh is to project him as a parallel to his cousin Rahul Gandhi, who has already made a huge impact with his travels across the key political state of Uttar Pradesh.

Sources say that Varun could even be given the post of UP BJP president just ahead of next assembly elections in 2012. Joining Varun in the list of secretaries is the laughter king Navjot Singh Sidhu and TV actress Smriti Irani and Vasundhara Raje has been accomodated as a gen secy as well as promised earlier.
