THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Applications have been invited from youth for participating in the inter-state Gandhi Peace Bus tour to be organised by the Kerala Gandhi Smarak Nidhi (KGSN) in association with the Information and Public Relations Department.
The tour, to be organised from June 17 to July 1, will begin from Kanyakumari and conclude in Mangalore, Karnataka. The youth should be between the ages of 20 and 35. The tour will cover places blessed by the presence of Mahatma Gandhi, holy places and institutions of importance in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karnataka.
The programme is part of the leadership development programme for the youth by the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi. Those interested in attending the tour may send an essay on ‘Gandhi whom I know’ to the Secretary, Kerala Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Gandhi Bhavan, Thycaud PO, Thiruvananthapuram - 14 by mail or by hand. The essays should not exceed 2,000 words and the selection will be based on the merit of the essay.
A passport-size photo of the candidate, biodata and a note on the candidate’s reasons for attending the tour should also be sent with the essay.
