Geetika Sharma suicide: Gopal Kanda's residence, properties in Delhi, NCR raided

Sirsa: The Delhi Police on Thursday raided the residence of former Haryana minister and prime accused in the Geetika Sharma suicide case, Gopal Goyal Kanda, in Sirsa and several other properties of his in Delhi and the NCR.

Kanda is believed to be absconding, while his colleague and MDLR Manager Aruna Chadha was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the case.

Twenty-three-year-old Geetika Sharma committed suicide on Saturday night and blamed Kanda and Chadha for her death in her suicide note.

While Chadha was arrested, there was no initiative on part of the police to arrest Kanda despite four days since the incident, leading many to question whether the MDLR chief was using his VIP status to avoid arrest.

A court is set to hear his anticipatory bail plea on Thursday.
