New Delhi: In a carefully worded statement, the Chief of Co-ordination of the MDLR Group, Aruna Chadha on Monday condoled the death of its ex-employee Geetika Sharma and welcomed the investigation into the case.

Twenty-three-year-old Geetika Sharma committed suicide on Saturday night by hanging from the ceiling fan and left behind a suicide note squarely blaming ex-Haryana MoS for Home Gopal Kanda and Aruna Chadha for her suicide.

According to the family of the victim, the ex-minister, who is the MD of the now-defunct airline, harassed the girl after she left the job, pressurising her to join back. The victim's brother said that Kanda even paid personal visits to their house.

Senior MDLR official Aruna Chadha is also one of the accused in the suicide case.

In her suicide note, Geetika said that the duo threatened to "ruin her life" if she did not join back the company.

"MDLR Group is an established corporate company having various business such as Aviation, Hospitality, Education, Real Estate etc," the statement said.

It added, "Geetika has been a very important member of the organisation and her death has come as a shock to the organisation and to me personally.

"Geetika was respected and liked in the organisation and was handling important portfolio for the company. In fact upon her request the Company was also funding her further education. For the past 2 months she was not coming to office . Therefore, this unfortunate incident has caught all of us by shock.

"As the police investigation is on, we all hope and pray that truth comes out soon. The organisation and all its employees are fully cooperating with the police and we are always available for extending all help in the matter.

"We are sure that justice will prevail and we all pray for the dear departed soul."
