New Delhi: The countdown for the much-awaited board exams has begun. Over 14 lakh students will be sitting for their CBSE exams on Monday.

As the clock strikes 1030 hrs IST Monday morning, 14,62,016 from over 14,000 schools across country will get onboard the CBSE bandwagon. While exams for class 12th theory end on April 2, for class 10th, the last date for exams is March 30.

The pattern of exams remains the same as last year but in some ways CBSE 2009 will be different.

  • There will be more students
  • More exam centres
  • The number of pages in the main answer sheet are down by eight so remember to keep your answers short
  • Add to that 39 helplines manned by trained experts helping students deal with exam-related stress
  • There are also new facilities for children with special needs. Thanks to CBSE, 3935 of them will get additional time and a scribe to assist them in writing their exam

While it is only natural for tension to mount, it helps to take some expert advice.

“They should never get stressed, no sleepless nights. Go to exam, check admit card, reach well before time and get their answer paper at 1000 hrs IST,” says Tagore International Principal, Suman Nath.

So for all of who will take their exams now should make full use of these last hour tips.

LAST MINUTE TIPS FROM EXPERTS:

  • Read the full question paper
  • Where you have choices, decide which ones you plan to answer
  • Try and follow the sequence of the question paper
  • Attempting the paper in a haphazard manner might irritate the examiner
  • Don't leave any questions unanswered. Remember, you can only be marked on the answers you give
  • Avoid spending too much time on multiple choice questions
  • Never omit an entire question
  • Lastly, if you have time in the end make sure you go through your paper thoroughly before you leave the examination room
