Jaipur: A 29-year-old student was found murdered in a Jaipur guest house just a few hours after she had checked in with a male friend, Jaipur Police said.
Sunita Shekhawat's body was found on Tuesday night at the Dawat Restaurant and Guest House situated in Gopalpura area of the city.
Police said Shekhawat, a resident of Malviya Nagar and pursuing a bachelor of education (BEd) degree, had come to the guest house with a man just three hours before the incident. They checked in under the fictitious names of Rahul Sharma and Anjul Sharma of Delhi.
"Our preliminary investigations indicate the woman was strangled to death," added a police officer.
It appeared that she was murdered by the man who came with her to the guest house.
"It is not right for us to disclose the name of the suspect. He was known to her for the last six-seven years and they met on a regular basis," the officer said.
A police team has been sent to Delhi for further investigations.
