Girl raped, mob sets railway station on fire

Sadulpur (Rajasthan): A railway station along with GRP and RPF outposts were set on fire by an angry mob late on Tuesday night over the alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl by two persons in a railway guest house in Sadulpur in Rajasthan's Churu district.

The incident occurred after news spread that two policemen on duty had misbehaved with the brother of the girl who was raped.

A mob gathered outside the GRP and RPF outposts and beat up the 2 policemen before setting the station on fire. The mob dispersed by the time authorities reached the spot.

The girl, who was in the district to attend the annual Gogaji fair in the area along with her parents, was allegedly raped on Tuesday evening.

Police have detained the rape accused identified as Manoj Meena and Jai Singh Meena, and arrested six people for damaging railway property.

While Meena works as an electrician with the railways, Singh is his relative.
