Give Sachin Bharat Ratna instead of making him MP: Gopinath Munde

Aurangabad: Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde on Thursday said here that instead of nominating the master cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to the Rajya Sabha, the Union Government should award him the Bharat Ratna award.

Munde was talking to media in the city during his visit to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Marathwada Mukti Sangram Museum.

He was answering a question about the government's nomination of Tendulkar to the upper house of the Parliament. While Shiv Sena executive president, Uddhav Thackeray, who also attended the function, said cryptically that "Congress and Sachin know well what is going on between them".
