Gladrags Model Hunt ends with a grand finale

Mumbai: After a string of controversies, the much talked about grand finale of the Gladrags Mega Model Hunt and Manhunt 2008 took place in Mumbai on Saturday. And gracing the occasion were actors Arjun Rampal, Koena Mitra, Mahima Chaudhary, fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and, of course the Wadias.

And like always, it was the swimsuit round that ended up stealing the show, both for men and women.

“It takes a lot of guts to do what they do on a day like this,” Arjun said remembering his modelling days.

Payal Tarafdar from Assam and Karan Ambardar from New Delhi were declared the winners and needless to say, it was the swimsuit round that did the trick for them as well.

“I actually used to practice when there was no one around and that's why I was so confident,” Karan said.

Former models also took a walk down memory lane while enjoying the gala event.

“I shot an ad with Ashwariya Rai and Aamir Khan, one of the leading actors and leading models of that time and I thought the agency was bluffing me. I really don't remember anything. It was much later that I realised what it was it all about,” Mahima said recalling her Pepsi commercial.

While Arjun said, “The first time I walked the ramp was with my wife Meher. Though, she was not my wife then. I held her hand and she thought that I was making a pass at her.”
