London: The UK is going through a period of the highest terror threat and an alarm has been raised by the country's new Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Police investigations have now zeroed down on a house in a quiet village not far from Glasgow.
The police say the house is being searched for its direct links to the attack at Glasgow airport.
But neighbours say suspicion is centered on two Asians believed to be Pakistanis. The place was rented by them four months ago.
Meanwhile, the heightened security alert has spread quickly to major airports thwarting the rosy vacation plans of hundreds of travellers.
“The situation is out of our control so you just have to go along with what's going on for the best,” said a passenger Jane Burns.
“There have been long delays and a number of cancellations, but we are pleased that within 24 hours we were able to open all 64 check in desks in the terminal,” said Donald Morrison from British Airports Authority.
And there are many who are determined not to let fears of terrorism ruin their holiday plans.
"People in Glasgow keep these things in stride. It happened so we get by it and get on with life,” said a passenger Robert Frew.
That's bold coming from the people in a country whose Prime Minister himself has declared that the terror threat is not going away anytime soon.
