And then there is the usual Page 3 schmoozing with enough drinks doing the rounds.
Even though Sunita Kapoor prefers that her elaborate jewellery spoke for itself, hubby Anil was ready with the explanations.
"She's very publicity shy but she's done a lot quietly. She's always been working even when I had no work. She's been a working woman ever since we've met. I've been poor and she's always been rich," Anil said.
So, with younger brother Sanjay's wife, Maheep already in the jewellery business, the husbands could hardly conceal their pride.
"They make their own money and they make their own jewellery," actor Sanjay Kapoor quipped.
And the verdict on the Mughal-inspired collection from the stars of the evening:
- Filmmaker and Choreographer, Farah Khan: Maybe it is too traditional and classic for me. I'm not the classic kind of person.
- Actor, Kirron Kher: Very beautiful, very nice and very elegant.
- Actor, Neelam Kothari: It's different from the kind of jewellery I make but it is worth the money.
And if Sunita's jewellery can make even the otherwise shy Sridevi talk, there's got to be something magical in all those stones.
"I love Sunita's designs. They're exclusive and elegant, I love wearing them," Sridevi said.
