It doesn't take a genius to guess that God Tussi Great Ho is a rip-off of the Jim Carrey hit Bruce Almighty. One look at the film's hoardings and that fact becomes painfully obvious. The question now is, what to expect from a film whose makers are so shameless they don't even bother to disguise their source of inspiration.

Salman Khan plays Arun Prajapati, an out-of-luck television anchor who can't stop cursing God for everything that's going wrong in his life. Arun's convinced that God has conspired against him, but one eventful day God shows up to address Arun's complaints.

A very embarrassed-looking Amitabh Bachchan plays the Almighty who agrees to give Arun HIS job for the next ten days to see if he can indeed make the world a better place. Naïve enough to believe that he's cracked the formula for universal happiness, Arun decides to grant everyone everything they ever wished for. Much to his horror, however, all hell breaks loose thanks to his gross miscalculation.

Let's just say God Tussi Great Ho should have gone through several more rewrites before it was imposed on the audience. It's a film with so many inconsistencies and improbabilities that you have to suspend not only disbelief but also intelligence.

Even if you're willing to overlook the film's tacky production values and dismal music score, what's completely unforgivable is the tasteless humour. Anupam Kher plays a father who repeatedly makes disparaging comments about his daughter's looks and goes on and on about how he's not surprised no man wants to marry her.

Salman Khan gets his sister to go through a complete makeover and then she's subjected to a bunch of before-and-after jokes by passerbys in the street. Are the writers of this film indeed so untalented that they couldn't come up with anything funnier for us to laugh at?
