Golf: Jeev makes cut in Spain

Sevilla (Spain): Jeev Milkha Singh, the lone Indian in the field, managed a two-under 72 for a tied 23rd in the incomplete third round at the rain-hit Reale Seguros Open de Espa a golf tournament, in Sevilla on Saturday.

Jeev, who shot a modest 73 in the first round with three birdies and four bogeys, had a 74 on day two with three birdies and five bogeys.

Jeev was lying 23rd after making the cut in 40th place when lightning and flooded greens stopped play.

Jeev Milkha Singh was lying 23rd after making the cut in 40th place when lightning and flooded greens stopped play.

He was lying 40th at the midway stage, at which point, Frenchman Gregory Bourdy held the lead at five-under 139 following rounds of 73 and 66.

Halfway leader Gr gory Bourdy, yet to tee off on Saturday, held a one shot advantage over Spain s Jorge Campillo, Italian teenager Matteo Manassero and English pair Robert Rock and Danny Willett.

Bourdy is one in front of England's Simon Dyson and Robert Rock, 19 year old Italian Matteo Manassero and Jorge Campillo, now the leading home hope on the 100th anniversary of the event's launch.
