Google News hits a pause button

New Delhi: The Google News homepage, across its multiple editions, didn't refresh its content for many hours.

The Google News homepage http://news.google.com for India and other countries was displaying content from many hours ago, whereas Google's news aggregation service is known to update very frequently.

The glitch affected the home page and topic pages of the service, but the 'Recent' and 'News near you' widgets on the right were displaying more recent content. Also news results for search keywords were displaying results that included recently posted stories.

Google News, across its multiple editions, doesn't seem to have refreshed its content in hours.

There was no update from Google on its Google News Blog and even on its Apps Status Dashboard at the time of posting, but Google News seemed to be back to normal at about 5:00 PM IST.
