New Delhi: Some hope of a resolution to the crisis in Jammu and Kashmir has arisen after a meeting between the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti and the Governor's panel.
The Governor's panel has proposed a compromise solution.
The proposal is to let the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti use the 100 acres of forest land during the three months of the Amarnath Yatra every year. This has been a key demand of the Samiti's.
A draft of this resolution is being worked out, but after the second round of talks on Saturday between the Samiti and the Governor's panel, the two sides have decided to meet again to discuss the issue.
The resolution is likely to be taken to the entire 21-member Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti for approval.
