New Delhi: After the upper House was adjourned on Thursday midnight without voting on the Lokpal Bill, the Leader of Oppositon in Rajya Sabha and BJP leader Arun Jaitley criticised the Government for staging the drama and asked for immediate resignation of the UPA Government.
"It (the Government) has no right to govern the country. It has lost political and moral authority," said Jaitley.
"Since today evening the Government's intention was clear to scuttle the process. The target was to reach midnight and get a minister to reply. They got the RJD to create ruckus in the Rajya Sabha. The Government kept on delaying," he added.
"The Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha and not passed in the Rajya Sabha. It has not been passed because of the Opposition but because the Government doesn't have the required numbers in the Rajya Sabha," he said.
