Govt not helping us: MV Iceberg sailors' parents

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: It has been almost two years since sailors on board the MV Iceberg were taken hostage by Somali pirates. The parents of the six Indian sailors on board have said the government hasn't done much to bring their children back home.

Speaking to CNN-IBN, the parents of the sailor Dhiraj Tiwari said, "Since the last 2 years, the government has not been doing anything and when we came to media, they said that we are forcing them. We don't understand what to do as we know that the owner will not help us."

One of the parents said, "The government says that if they force the pirates, the demands of the pirates will rise. So, do we have to leave our kids for dying? Should we not ask from the government where our kids are?"

MV Iceberg was hijacked by pirates in March, 2009.
