Govt proposes 4-year rural MBBS course

Four year Bachelor of Rural health care programme would be offered in medical schools that the Government proposes to set up with district hospitals that don't have medical colleges attached. The central govt has agreed to give state governments 20 crores rupees for every medical school that is set up.The eligibility criteria for the course is 10+2. The graduates will only be allowed to practice in 'notified rural areas'
