Bangalore: KG Basavaiah and his wife Umadevi didn't want to vote this time, they had other commitments but their children ensured they queued up at the polling station and later on, at their school too.
“Our children told us they will get extra marks and forced us to vote,” Basavaiah said.
Two days back, students of the Blossoms School in a Bangalore suburb were sent an SMS saying that indelible ink on their parents' fingers could get them four marks out of 10 in their projects.
And it soon got children forcing their parents for those brownie points.
“We got the message from the school and my son insisted I should vote. He is interested in those four marks so I and his father voted,” a parent, Anupama Shivaprasad Bhat said.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Blossoms Education Society, D Shashi Kumar said, “We have been given a week's time before ink goes so they can register. Word of mouth publicity is good.”
How many times have you heard the advice that you must vote for the future of your country and that of your children? Well, in this case, it could happen quite literally!
