Greece riots against police enter 3rd week

New Delhi: Riots in Greece entered their third week as protesters clashed with riot police in central Athens following a memorial for the teenager who was shot dead by police.

Mourners gathered at the site where 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos was killed on December 6, in the central Athens neighbourhood of Exarchia.

The fatal shooting touched many young people in Greece, who have now taken to the streets to protest what they see as random police violence.

Hundreds of rioters also battled police in central Athens fire-bombing a credit reporting agency and attacking the city's Christmas tree.
