Mumbai: A local court on Tuesday rejected the bail application of Kannada film actress Maria Susairaj, who is accused of killing Synergy Adlabs Creative Head Neeraj Grover.
After hearing arguments on the application for three days, Additional Sessions Judge S T Mahajan on Tuesday rejected the petition.
He said that prima facie case has been made out against the applicant from the documents provided in the court.
Earlier, Public prosecutor R V Kini argued that her involvement in the murder has come to light and it was a pre-planned murder.
" The motive that the prosecution has is that Maria came down to Mumbai is to become a heroin but the she may have been unsure whether Neeraj was cheating him and thats why they decided to do away with Neeraj" she said.
On the contrary, Defence advocate H H Ponda told the court that it was not a pre-planned murder and his client is in judicial custody, as the investigating agency has completed the investigation. She was ready to cooperate with the investigating agency.
Maria was arrested with her boyfriend Jerome Mathew, a naval officer, for the murder of Grover in May.
Grover was stabbed to death allegedly by Mathew inside Susairaj's apartment in suburban Malad on May 7 this year over a suspected love triangle.
