New Delhi: Shailly Mendiratta is angry and upset. Four days after her husband went missing in Gurgaon, the police have no clue of his whereabouts. Instead they say Deepak was insured for a huge sum and this is a scam to get the money. An accusation the family denies.

"If he wanted to die he would have died at home. He would have burnt himself with the car. The police just want to close the case," says she.

Adds Deepak's father, Baldev Raj Mendiratta, "He left home saying he needed to pick up money from a property dealer and had a surprise in store for us."

Surprise turned to shock when just hours later, when Deepak's burning car was found on the highway -- without any sign of Deepak.

The family hasn't received a ransom call, leading the police to believe that his disappearance could also be the result of a family feud.

Deepak's disappearance has added to the fear in Delhi's best known suburb. Gurgaon saw eight robberies last weekend, almost all of them in areas with high security cover.

IBM Global Services issued a 'dos and don'ts' travel advisory to its executives following a carjacking outside its office.

If the police don't crack the case, Gurgaon's corporates and residents will rest uneasy.
