New Delhi: Few hours after he surrendered in the Gurgaon BMW hit-and-run case, the son of the car owner, Suraj Singh Sherawat, was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
The 21-year-old, who was absconding for 10 days, surrendered in a court on Tuesday in connection with the accident in which two people including a pregnant woman were killed.
The Gurgaon Police said Suraj had not been cooperating with the investigation. He was the second person to have surrendered in the case.
Earlier, a person claiming to be the driver of the BMW car, Rajesh, had surrendered and was arrested. A Gurgaon court had on Monday dropped the anticipatory bail of Rajesh as the Gurgaon Police did not oppose his bail plea as initial investigations showed he was not driving the car and hence was not a suspect.
The blood from the BMW car has been sent to a Central Forensic Science Lab to ascertain the driver's identity.
A pregnant woman and her driver were killed in the May 5 accident, when a speeding BMW collided with an Indigo near IFFCO Chowk.
