Gurgaon: Man arrested for raping 8-year-old girl

Gurgaon: A private security guard was arrested for raping his neighbour's eight-year-old daughter in Gurgaon, police said on Monday.

Shiv Shankar, 54, who lives in a rented house in Kadipur near sector 10, was arrested after the victim's father filed a complaint on Sunday, police said.

"The incident happened Wednesday when the girl's father, a security guard, and her mother, a domestic help, were not at home. Shankar lured the girl to his house and raped her," said a police officer.

Police said Shiv Shankar, who lives in a rented house in Kadipur near sector 10, was arrested after the girl\'s father filed a complaint.

"On Monday, the accused was presented before a court and was sent to judicial custody," Hansraj Singh, chief of sector 10-A police station, told IANS.
