Gurgaon: Remnants of a lost childhood, a school bag that belongs to the accused who allegedly pumped three bullets into 14-year-old Abhishek Tyagi on Tuesday, killing him instantly, now lies unattended in classroom 8 B at the Euro International School in Sector 45, Gurgaon.
The bloodstains on the corridor still remain unwashed, even as the school authorities say they had no indication that such an accident could happen.
“We had no idea that this was coming. There was no incident or any history of this boy being reported against in the school,” says Mamta Sharma, Principal, Euro International School.
The school authorities are now talking about reinstalling the currently defunct CCTV cameras and appointing a full time counsellor to prevent such incidents in the future.
The police have registered an additional case of negligence under the Arms Act against Azad Singh Yadav, the father of the accused but admit that they have not made much headway.
“We have sent teams to track the families but none of them have been found,” says Satish Balan, DCP, Gurgaon (South).
In fact, the police say no one has come on behalf of either of the two accused boys, even a full day after they were taken into custody.
The school will reopen on Friday and the stains will be gone but what will remain is a deep impact on the psyche of the school's students who are yet to come to terms with the shock.
