Jaipur: After the uneasy truce in Rajasthan, there are fresh signs of trouble. Police has filed a case of murder and conspiracy against Gurjar leaders Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla, Roop Singh and other leaders in Karauli district.

The Rajasthan Armed Constabulary has filed a case against the leaders for the alleged murder of a police constable.

While the FIR is dated May 29, the day the Gurjar agitation began, the report of the FIR comes just a day after the Supreme Court issued notices to the DGPs of three states asking what action was taken against those who damaged public property and caused violence.

The police however, denies that this is just to placate the Supreme Court.

“An FIR was lodged for blocking roads and for conspiring and instigating people which lead to the murder of a constable. The FIR was registered on May 29,” SP of Karauli, Prafful Kumar said.

More charges have been filed against the leaders besides murder like attempt to murder, unlawful assembly, rioting, dacoity and assault on public servants.

Meanwhile, Gurjar leaders have said that they will take up the case with Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and if need be they will be back on the roads.

“The government of Rajasthan made an agreement and after that peace returned. If they violated that then we will again request the people of Rajasthan,” Secretary of Gurjar Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Jaipur, Roop Singh said.

With a Gurjar Mahapanchayat scheduled in Pushkar on June 8 to analyse the peace deal, the charges will now figure prominently in the agenda.
